In this blog I hope to share my passion for nanotechnology, science and rationality and more general nerdery. I also see this blog as an exercise in “learning by writing”, furthering and developing my own understanding of the great concepts physics and life by working through them as I put them to words. I welcome feedback, discussion and, where needed, correction.

I am a struggling experimental physicist and PhD student at the University of British Columbia, and a displaced Englishman. I’m a Rationalist, a sceptic and a cynic, but also a hopeful dreamer and hopeless romantic. I am also a husband, father and beagle-owner. I like to cook and eat, to dabble and to procrastinate.
